BOORSE, RAY & HESS LEAD BADGER RACE STATS
SUN PRAIRIE, WI, September 28---2001 Badger Midget
Series Champion Dan Boorse, Mike Hess and runner-up Davey Ray head up the final
Badger Midget Auto Racing Association season race statistics.
Badger recently completed their 65th year of sanctioning midget auto racing, the
oldest in the country.
Boorse, topped all drivers with eleven preliminary race wins, and was tied with
Ray for the lead with eleven top five feature finishes in the 19 race series.
2000 series champion Scott Hatton led all drivers with four feature wins, and
topped the feature laps led category leading seven features for 101 laps led.
Brandon Waelti, and A. J. Fike tied for the series lead with three fast time
honors as a total of eleven different drivers turned a top performance in
qualifying.
The series car count remained strong and averaged 35.9 cars per event, with the
season high being 49 at the June 10th Rayovac Challenge event at Angell Park
Speedway. Eight new series track records were set during the season.
The annual Awards Banquet is set for Saturday Night November 3 at the Sheraton
Milwaukee Brookfield.
